Fuse volunteer role

A Volunteer Youth Worker is the main volunteer role within Fuse. This position involves:

  • Assisting in the Junior and Senior drop in sessions

  • Building a good relationship with the young people and being a good listener

  • Facilitating and participating in games and activities with the young people

  • Helping staff with the set-up and clean-up of various programmes/activities

  • Commitment to attend team meetings, training opportunities and individual support and supervision

  • Helpful, enthusiastic and motivated

  • Willing to learn new skills and develop your own programmes

Principles

Fuse Youth Café’s volunteering policy is underpinned by the following principles:

  •  Volunteers are made an integral part of the organisational structure and are valued and respected

  • Volunteers will receive guidance and support from the volunteer coordinator and Fuse staff they directly work with

  •  Volunteering will lead to personal growth and development as well as have a positive impact on the young people and wider community

There are also other volunteering opportunities available depending on your skills
and experience. You may want to volunteer for a specific programme, help out in our
office or fundraise for us.
